Clattenburg in the MoS says no Pen, Gordon initiated contact! If the ref couldn’t see that even after looking at it on screen he shouldn’t be officiating! Having said that taking off Antonio again and bringing in the ineffective Phillips gave our opponents the initiative again Moyes as said it didn’t work so hopefully that’s the last we see of Phillips!

Re: Corrupt officiating
The officiating is a total farce now.
Biased rubbish. VAR just adds another layer of drama now which does my head in.

And for the record I was ok with the first penalty but the second never. The game's done

Three sixty - From the Rules of the Game.

In the rules it states -

Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed

• Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned

• Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force
and/or endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off

threesixty, you'll have to forgive the fantasist pimp as he and the ref don't know the laws of football, you can't tackle from behind to get the ball, unless you get the ball and in this case, Gordon didn't get the fucking ball and in fact it should have been a foul on Phillips.

Re: Corrupt officiating
Does anyone actually know the official rules here or are we just guessing?
Personally I thought that a foul must have intent or carelessness as a rule. Like a head height kick is fine if no one is near you but if you’re careless and do it near someone’s head and kick them it’s a foul etc.

My thing with the Philips pen is that there is no way on earth he could have known the guy was there. It’s almost like a tackle from behind which is pretty much outlawed because you have no chance of avoiding it. And if you do tackle from behind (or sort of hook your leg around the player) you absolutely have to get the ball otherwise it’s a definite foul.

In this instance Gordon tackled from behind and didn’t get the ball and basically just obstructed Philips from kicking the ball by putting his foot there. Doesn’t feel like there was any intent or carelessness from Philips at all. No foul for me unless the rules state otherwise.

Yup if anything it’s a foul on Phillips.

I’m always here to help your tiny brain with these tough issues.

"Planting your foot in front of someone trying to play the ball doesn't make it a foul".

Exactly my point. I am glad we are agreed.

Give up trying to be ‘edgy’.

Come On You Irons 3:16 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
So West Ham players who kick "planted" legs in the penalty area get a pass because the atracker has used his football intelligence and guile to get their foot there first?

Both penalties were stone wall. Take off those claret and blue specs.

goose 2:25 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
It’s a foul on Phillips, it’s never a penalty.

This crap of players buying penalties by sticking the foot in the way is ridiculous.

Come On You Irons 2:09 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
Who cares if Gordon "planted his foot". Phillips clearly kicks said planted foot so a penalty was rightly given.

Re: Corrupt officiating
If that was against Liverpool or Man Utd there would have been a five minute forensic investigation by MOTD but they didn't even mention it. It was quite obvious to me that Gordon planted his foot deliberately for the first penalty the second penalty he fouled Phillips before Phillips kicked him.

Ron Eff 3:18 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
If the 2nd one is a penalty we should start using it every week. Just plant your foot in front of a player clearing a ball without trying to play the ball yourself. Its the equivalent of kicking a ball at a players arm intentionally when he is pointing for his team mate to move.

It’s a cheat move. I remember Balbuena getting sent off for similar v Chelsea. These refs just don’t learn. That said, Phillips was fucking slow as per allowing Gordon time to do it.

Re: Corrupt officiating
Come on you irons, if you think the 2nd one was a stone wall penalty, football really isn't for you.

I'm yet to hear a neutral agree that it was a penalty.

Come on you irons
If you thing both penalties are stone wall
Then for the first you have no idea about the offside rule and for the second you’re a grade A moron that has never played football and spent most of your childhood playing ‘had’ or kiss chase boys only

Accusing Richard Nixon of corruption was a conspiracy theory until it was proven to be true

Re: Corrupt officiating
It’s so boring to hear people to continuously say there’s no corruption in this country with officiating
Show me one shred of evidence that proves it can’t happen and it’s being watched and I’ll eat my words
But it doesn’t exist
What does exist, is every week there are outrageous decisions being made despite having the use of equipment which is supposed to stop this happening
Name me one other non corrupt business where workers manage to keep their jobs despite being completely and utterly inept at doing so week after week
The fact is you can’t name one

Come On You Irons 2:05 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
Take your claret and blue specs off you total melt.

In both penalty incidents the West Ham player makes contact with the attacker. Both stone wall hence two penalties given.

Keep on being a conspiracy theorist loon though, it you get kicks out of it.

Re: Corrupt officiating
It’s idiots like you lot who claim there’s nothing dodgy that allow it to continue
All based on living in a world full of fairytales and rainbows and nothing ever dodgy could possibly go on in this country
Play it off as a conspiracy theory

maverick180 12:57 Sun Mar 31
Re: Corrupt officiating
Ok then come on you irons
If they’re both stone wall
Then explain Burn not being sent off for flattening kudus when he was clean through on goal
